I’m known to have dry skin. My face gets dry and itches. My knees have flaking. But worst of all, my ears are dry and they itch. It’s also embarassing if I don’t really scrub my ears in the morning and get the dry flakes off of them. Really, it’s something I battle. But if I take colloidal oatmeal baths, I do get some relief. The oatmeal acts as a moisturizer for me.
The colloidal oatmeal helps smooth over my dry skin, and brings instant relief. It’s not a “cure” for me, but is something that helps. I’ve also been known to make an oatmeal “paste” by mixing the colloidal oatmeal with a small mix of honey and milk to thicken it up. Then I put it on my dry skin, my ears, and let it rest for about twenty minutes. I then clean everything off, and the result is smoother, softer skin. I know this works, because I have done it, and continue to use it to relieve my symptoms.
If you want to give it a try, make your own colloidal oatmeal from store-bought oatmeal. Or you might like some of these products.
